Stree Shakti Probodhan ( Awakening Women Power) is a unit of Jnana Prabodhini established in 1995. A series of constructive activities began with the organisation of rural women's power through the anti-liquor campaign in the Shivaganga-Gunjawani river valleys of the Pune district. Currently, 320 SHGs only for women members are existing and 5200 account holders are taking benefits. Guidance to the rural women through the establishment of a local body called ‘Jijamata Prabodhan Kendra’. Personality development, health, self-employment, and leadership training programmes for rural women across all age groups. 2000+ Adolescent girls benefited from personality development programmes under Kishori Vikas. 600+ Young mothers have undergone parenting sessions. 30+ age group of women experiencing Health awareness and check-up programmes (2000+ per year) consistently for 10 years in collaboration with funding organizations, skill development( 1750 per year) for last 8 years, local leadership development.

 
Different projects run by Stree Shakti Grameen are as follows-

1. Aarogya Sakhi- Health related project for 80 villages in Velhe Block. 8 awareness sessions + 6 Check-up camps in each village.( CSR Bajaj Finserv )

2. Swayamrojgar- Ram Sita Puranik Kendra Shivapur, Dhanashree project for Nasrapur, Ambawane, and Velhe Kendra. (CSR Electronica)

3. Telemedicine Project- with Rotary Pride. 4 Types of tests like Hb, BP, Dopler, and Temprature are done on the village level. We have trained ASHA workers from Karanjawane PHC to do all the tests with tablets given to them. People needing help are referred to PHC or Doctors from Sahyadri Hospital who consult them through telephonic conversation.

4. Navdisha leadership project- for 50 women from Velhe block. With the help of JPF we are conducting sessions for the leadership development of these village representatives so they can contribute to the development of their villages.

5. Bachat gat- Currently 320 SHGs only for women members are existing and 5200 account holders are taking benefits. 

6. Katkari Project- Currently we are working on the issues of children from 4 katkari vasties in Velhe. Mostly issues regarding their education and health awareness are taken care through this work.

7. Girikanya Sahanivas- 39 girls from remote villages of Velhe Bloc are taking benefit of this facility in Velhe. Most of these girls are from Dhangar community and are living in the hilly area of Velhe Block. Most of them don’t have schools in their villages. So they have to drop out of the school and get married at an early age. But now because of this hostel girls in Velhe are getting opportunities to pursue their dreams in education.
